So I have to say, as it typically happens, I have gone a bit rogue on my sewing plans. I have added and subtracted some items from the lists I made. The funny thing is that no matter how organized I make my plans, they always end up changing. With the release of the Tamarack Jacket, I had been making muslins in the studio and started getting the itch to make my own. So, no progress on that Cascade I had plans for but I am loving this jacket. I recently took it with me to Michigan. It was the perfect weight for the low 50 degree days. Also, I can't help but mention my new 5 month old buddy, Winston. He's in the photos below working the camera better than me.

Anyways, back to sewing. I also finished up this giant, bulky Linden with a split hem and no neckband. It's what I had intended in my plans to do as the Linden that snaps up the back, however I could not find the right fabric for what I had in mind. I bought this heavy sweater weight knit from Harts Fabric, I loved it as soon as it arrived but it was so thick I knew there was no way I was going to be able to get more then two layers under the sewing machine or serger. In the end I had to sew the hem bands on by hand, after breaking two needles because I'm horribly stubborn when it comes to having to hand sew. It was totally worth it once I finished but a bit extra work throughout.

I have also finished up quite a few Larks and would say I wear one at least twice a week, on it's own or underneath something else. Also, finished the most comfortable, baggiest Hemlock in a black and white striped bamboo knit from Harts. It's lovely and gets worn far too often. I'm towing the line of seeming like I may only own a few tops other then this Hemlock. All in all, I'm happy to say I stayed on track with those.

I also finished up my Wool and the Gang Cross Country Coat. I really love it, I don't know how often I will wear it though. It took a bit of courage to wear it out of the house for the first time, because it needs the perfect outfit. It's not a piece I can just through on and walk out of the house feeling 100% in any day of the week. I also felt at first that it looked like it was swallowing me up, but after a few wears, I'm feeling more comfortable in it and I just know it's a statement piece. I also brought this piece with me to Michigan and wore it to a nice birthday dinner date with my dude, paired it with an Alder modification blouse, jeans, and nude heels. I felt super hip in my almost totally handmade outfit in the only way a sewing enthusiast would.

Still have more to make, always. However, I'm really enjoying how all these pieces have fit into my current wardrobe. I have a few in progress projects and would show them to you, but I am a little embarrassed at how slowly they are coming along. I'm still working on my Heathered cardigan, but took a big hiatus from knitting. It's been busy but I just got Hunger Makes me a Modern Girl as an audiobook and plan to listen in on Brownstein's stories and knit along as she reads them. Still have major desires to make a couple Archers, but haven't even gotten to cutting them out yet! If only I had more hands...
