Archer Sew Along?

Grainline Studio | Archer Pattern

Dudes, THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone for the super kind response to the new pattern! Archer is my favorite pattern to date and I’m so glad that you guys are excited about it too!

As I’ve been reading through comments and tweets, etc. I’ve noticed a theme, people seem excited but sort of nervous about sewing a button up shirt and quite a few people have asked me if I’ll be doing a sew along. I’ve never done one before but it would be a great way to work through all the steps for this pattern so if people are interested I’m totally game. Let me know if this is something you’d be interested in and if enough people are interested in seeing something like this I’ll make it happen!

yes please. I haven’t sewn anything with a collar for 20 years (really) and I’ve never done a sewalong either, so an archer sewalong could be just what I need!

  2. Norma says:

I would love an Archer sew along! I have not made a shirt in a long time and I am interested in your techniques for getting such great looking results. Also, it would be a great way to get me to sew a non lingerie project for a change πŸ™‚

Oh indeed, a sewalong would be excellent! I have no trepidation about making the Archer (I’ve been sewing for 5 decades), but just adore the atmosphere of excitement and comradery that sewalongs engender :D. And it’s always so much fun to get to see loads of interpretations of the same pattern!

  7. Retha says:

Oh yes, please please please! I love sew alongs even if I don’t NEED one – I just like seeing how other people do things, and it’s nice to sew something a bit at a time in the evenings.

BTW, I’m already pulling fabrics for multiple versions of view B – I love that butt ruffle! Extra ease right where I need it, LOL!

  14. Olga says:

Yes, please do a sew-along! Your tutorials are always so awesome, and I am planning on getting the Archer pattern just to have your instructions. So, a sew-along would be a major bonus! I’ve been wanting to make myself some button-down shirts for ages, but I understand that “proper” shirt making is pretty technical, so it would be wonderful to have instructions from a professional.

I hope you do a sewalong! I don’t have much time to join now, but I’ll still follow along and come back to it in a few months when I’m good and ready. Or I’ll probably end up joining in at the tail end. I get so jealous of everyone else, I just can NOT hold out. sleep can wait!
