So a few days or maybe a week or some time ago not longer than 2 weeks, the Purl Bee had a customer appreciation raffle for their online customers. When I first saw it I thought, eh, don’t bother entering, you never win anything, but then I saw that they had a Charlie Harper needlepoint canvas as a prize and I thought, oh what the heck, it’s got to be my turn some time. (Here’s a little prize history about me, I have never won anything that I had to do nothing to win. Like a raffle or the lottery or something like that. I’ve won things I’ve had to work hard on like coloring contests (I was 5), scholarships, awards, all that jazz, but if you put me into a random pool with everyone else, I always always come out on the bottom.) Until now, omg omg I totally won the needlepoint prize! Woah woah woah. Okay, I’m over it. Not really, but I will stop talking about it now.
Also I would like to address something in my previous post, which would be the GIANT bottle of José Quervo marg mix in the bottom right of my photo. When I first realized that I had posted that photo on not one, but 3 websites, I thought to myself, “Oh Jen, nobody will notice that.” Then I got a comment saying that somebody liked my stand mixer on the shelf directly above the marg mix. Dun dun dun, I’m sure everyone has seen that mix now.
So here’s the story on the mix. I’m not sure why I feel that I need to address this mix, but oh well, get ready for a booze post and the beginning of the downhill slide of this blog. We won the mix at a raffle, got it home and didn’t know what to do with it. I don’t drink and Luke doesn’t typically drink marg mix, but then we had some friends over for a curated taco party. One of our friends was talking about driving around L.A. in a rented tux and Prius for his friends wedding and hearing the song “Shots” on repeat. Do you know this song? Here’s the link
. Long story short, I made everyone shots consisting of 1/3 José Quervo Marg. Mix (alcohol is included in this mix), 1/3 Celtic Crossing (won at the same raffle) and 1/3 Ouzo (that was ours). And for some reason they drank it. Probably because they love me. Or something. Remember that post a few weeks ago of us throwing hammers on the roof? That was after these shots.
